TFT / Leader fire fighting monitors form 2 major families: Portable monitors (conforming to standard EN15767) and fixed monitors.
Leader is Europe's exclusive distributor for the best-known manufacturer in the sector: TFT - Task Force Tips.
These monitors cover a flow range extending from 200 to 5000 L per minute for portable monitors and up to 8000 L per minute for fixed monitors.
Undesirable portable monitor movements are particularly dangerous to operators. All the Leader portable monitors (Partner up to 200 L per minute and Vector S up to 5000 L per minute) have a safety valve which, combined with a movement detector, automatically reduces the flow to re-establish the stability of the monitor.
These monitors can be used for a great variety of purposes. For instance, Partner portable monitors can be equipped with an automatic sweeping system to cool structures exposed to high temperatures and the Vector portable monitors have a turret which can be disconnected, allowing them to be mounted on a vehicle roof.
The fixed monitor family includes manual monitors, remote-controlled monitors and ATEX electric monitors. Made of light alloy, all come with hard anodizing and powder painting on the inside and outside to offer outstanding resistance to corrosion.
Electric monitors can be combined with a multitude of accessories (radio or wire control box, joystick, position transfer, etc.). Their main advantage is electronic management: using multiplexing, all the control information travels over just 2 wires, facilitating equipment installation and maintenance.
To complete the range of monitors, we have a range of manual or remote control diffusion heads. With these diffusion heads, the shape of the jet (from a solid jet to a diffused jet) can be varied, and/or the flow rate selected.
Pressure drops often occur in water systems, essentially during a fire. The automatic Mastermatic head maintains constant pressure of around 7 bars at the outlet of the monitor so that preference is always allocated to the range of the jet. In this case, it is better to have a smaller flow which is capable of reaching the heart of the fire, rather than a larger flow that fails to reach it.
What all these items have in common is the reliability of the products, thanks to the care taken in the design, the choice of materials and the manufacturing quality.
